Backing up your MySQL database is now easy, reliable, and efficient. Begin by navigating to your user dashboard and clicking on the "Add Database" link at the bottom of the main page.
Enter your credentials, your database url or IP, the name of your database, your MySQL username and password, and port (typically 3306). We also have options for you to tunnel over SSH using your FTP credentials or other credentials.
*Note: You may also have to whitelist our IP addresses, as it is shown in the image above. If you decide to backup your database with CodeGuard we recommend doing this step beforehand to ensure no errors occur during the backup.
Your database will now be backed up via the transmission channel you specified during the initial setup. Right now it will back it up daily, just like your source code.
As opposed to other non-differential backup solutions, we prevent a TON of useless duplicate data from being produced and then stored. Why waste? We favor a minimalist policy. We also convert your database into a proprietary format that allows us to perform comparison analysis on it. If during our analysis we find any changes, we will only store those changes. Should you need your entire database, however, we will reconstruct it by merging all of the prior backups that contain the additions and deletions to your database. As for restore, we currently offer two main solutions. You can request a zip backup of your database and manually restore, or perform an automatic one-click restore.
To summarize, enter your credentials, whitelist our IPs and then we will back up your databases.
